Greenlife Industry Stakeholders’ Summit
26 September, Adelaide
Greenlife Industry Australia (GIA) and all the state associations met on 26 September in Adelaide to:
- build on progress from the previous summit 18 months earlier
- strengthen their interrelationships.
- We’re pleased to let you know the event was a great success.
Purpose
At the original meeting, attendees defined GIA’s role in supporting and leading the states. This was captured under five strategic pillars: advocacy, best practice, nursery levy, biosecurity and marketing.
These five pillars guided discussions at this year’s event, in terms of - sharing progress
- checking in
- ensuring continuous improvement.
Core conversations
- The greenlife industry national conference in February next year – What does success look like?
- Nursery levy – How can we create a more equitable model that delivers more revenue?
- Uniting around a common identity – What needs to happen next to successfully roll out national branding?
- Big box retailers – confirming states’ support and outlining the way forward
- Membership – reciprocal rights and member benefits
- Advocacy – What should GIA’s priorities be for influencing the national policy agenda?
- Communications – more information for members about how GIA and the states are working together
Outcomes
The key outcomes of the summit were:
- even stronger relationships and more trust between GIA and the states
- a shared understanding of the industry’s key strategic priorities, and critical issues and opportunities
- new ideas about how we can work together better for more impact to benefit the greenlife sector.
