The Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) is urging Queenslanders to prepare for a challenging disaster season this coming summer. With forecasts predicting above-average temperatures over the next few months, stormy weather could be experienced more frequently than usual state-wide.
If your enterprise is impacted by a disaster event, you may be eligible for financial assistance through QRIDA.
QRIDA encourages Queensland primary producers and business owners to stay informed of what to do if disaster assistance becomes available.
What you will need to apply for disaster recovery assistance from QRIDA:
· Photos and videos of all damage to your enterprise
· Personal identification
· Rates notice or lease agreement
· Financial statements and tax returns
· Details of your insurance
· Evidence of expenditure on business recovery post-disaster
Following a disaster event, contact your local QRIDA Regional Area Manager, who is there to help you understand what financial assistance is available, eligibility criteria, and the application process.
For more information on the availability of financial assistance form QRIDA following a disaster event, visit QRIDA’s website and social media channels. For specific questions once assistance is available, contact QRIDA by calling 1800 623 946 or emailing contact_us@qrida.qld.gov.au.
