You may have heard that GIQ is moving to a new, simpler model for branches. The aim is to take away the paperwork and formality, and focus instead on what really matters: giving growers, retailers, and allied businesses a chance to catch up, share experiences, and enjoy being part of a strong local network.
What does this mean?
- No more heavy admin or formal committees — just one or two of us volunteering to coordinate gatherings each year.
- GIQ will cover meeting costs (up to $30 per person), handle the RSVPs, and help promote events.
- .We’ll aim for four relaxed catch-ups each year — think drinks at a pub, a picnic, or dinner together — whatever works best locally
Cost: free to GIQ members and their staff. RSVP essential.
Go alfresco with other people in the nursery business, with enjoy free pizza and drinks for a casual catch-up, this will be a relaxed, social get-together — no guest speakers, no long agendas, just good company and a chance to swap stories and ideas. Colin from GIQ has also kindly offered to join us to give a quick update and hear directly from members.
Whether you’ve been involved with the branch for years, or haven’t come along before, this is a great chance to reconnect (or connect for the first time!).
I hope you can join us — it would be wonderful to see you there!
Warm regards,
Megan Williams
